Seat Cover Fitting Instructions:
Before fitting:
Remove all jewellery and/or watches. Do not fit if you have any open cuts or wounds on your hands.
Caution: sliding seat mechanisms are greased - try not to get grease on your hands
Take all the headrests off and place aside.
Open bag and put the pieces where they are going to go; i.e. put headrest covers with the headrests, etc.
NB. Seat positions are marked on the washing instruction label.
Loosen all webbing from ladder locks and split all Velcro.
To tension webbing straps, take load on the strap itself. Then take up slack through ladder lock. Do not use ladder lock as a pulley to create tension – It will break!
Fitting sequence:
Headrest covers: Match profile of piping with profile of headrest to ensure you fit the headrest cover the correct way round.
Driver seat: Put backrest cover on with side pocket facing the driver where applicable. Tuck tongue of fabric through gap between backrest and seat.
Join the Velcro. Position seat cover and pull through straps around bottom of seat. Tighten straps once seat cover correctly positioned.
Passenger seat: As per passenger seat.
Rear bench backrest: Slide backrest cover over either side of bench.
Push safety belt buckles out of the way. Push long tongue of fabric (Length of the bench) underneath and between backrest and bench.
Match the hook and loop of the Velcro and push together. Split and push Velcro together until the join lies flat.
If there is an armrest, then tuck the armrest flaps into the armrest cavity.
Split armrest cover Velcro. Pull armrest cover over armrest (like you would put a sock on your foot). Feed armrest cover flap around and through the swing-arm area of the armrest and join Velcro together.
Rear bench seat: Put the rear bench seat cover over the bench and tighten the corresponding straps to ladder locks. The key is to loose-tighten all the ladder locks, adjust fabric for fit, and then only tighten fast.
60/40, 50/50, 30/30/30 Split rear benches: Treat fitment of split benches as you would for a driver/ passenger front seat.
Jump Seats: Treat fitment of jump seats as you would for driver/passenger front seats.
General:
If a ladder lock slips, you have threaded the webbing incorrectly. It needs to be turned over and threaded from the opposite side.
Timing: It will take more than one hour for a first timer to fit the complete set. The time will be more than halved if two people work together.
Neat fit: This is achieved by adjusting ladder locks and Velcro to smooth out fabric that is bunched or creased.
Maintenance: After driving for a while with seat covers on, re-adjust ladder locks.
Wipe marks/dirt off seat covers with a damp chamois.
Wash when necessary – cold water hand wash with mild soap solution.
N.B Ensure there is no bleach in the soapy solution
Do not aggressively scrub marks/stains. Rinse with cool water, line dry.
Just before dry, fit covers and leave vehicle in the sun with doors open. The cotton cover will shrink a little when they are washed, but will stretch back to full size when they are refitted.
Airotec®: This fabric is suitable for machine washing.
